How would Mark Twain use the social networks? by Stephen T. Jones

Mark Twain Dream Podcast

I believe that we are all evolutions of the great leaders of yesteryear and I also believe that most of us just don’t see it. Recently, I was working on a project and I kept asking myself, “How would Mark Twain us YouTube?” The more and more I contemplated this question I began to see more and more that most of us have been taking the social networks for granted. Twain is one of the most quotable figures in American History and a true legend. Even though Twain lived long ago his quotes are timeless intellectual banter questioning the status quo. The reason I say that it is timeless because most of his quotes can be applied to what is going on in today’s world. I bet Mark Twain wouldn’t be making countless excuses why he didn’t what to share his intellectual property on his blog or YouTube channel.  Just for fun here are some cool things that I believe Mark Twain would do today to spread his word.

  1. He would love people to repost his stuff…Just like Tom Sawyer he would persuade of us to paint our facebook wall with his content.
  2. He would use his books on Amazon to influence society and use that as a platform for social change and making the world a better place.
  3. He would still be very controversial he wouldn’t be afraid of the repercussions of his convictions. Because of blogs we don’t need to be a lone voice in the world, there is strength in numbers.
  4. Because of technology he wouldn’t suffer as much to share a cause because what his was saying could be spread all over the world at the touch of a bottom. He would have been able to reach more people during his life time and achieve greater levels of influence.
  5. He wouldn’t use twitter he would think it is stupid (lol)
  6. He wouldn’t spend time on the social networks he would have a team of 20 something’s that he would influence and let them find ways to spread his cause on the net.
  7. He would do live events and broadcast them worldwide so people could feel part of something bigger.
  8. He wouldn’t be wasting his valuable time preaching to people the etiquette of facebook, twitter or telling people not to do it.
